Image licensing — free photographs of London by Tripyana
Tripyana releases a selection of its own photographs of London, the River Thames and the Home Counties free of charge under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) licence. Writers, teachers, publishers and other businesses may use them for any purpose, including commercially, provided they credit Tripyana and link to this licence.

Subjects include Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Constitution Hill, Regent Street, Piccadilly, the Thames at Battersea and Vauxhall, Marlow in Buckinghamshire, and our Mercedes-Benz V-Class and S-Class vehicles. Faces are not shown and number plates are blurred.
How to credit a Tripyana photograph
CC BY 4.0 lets you copy, adapt and use the image for any purpose, including commercially, as long as you name the author and link to the licence. The credit we ask for is:

Online, please make “Tripyana” a link to https://tripyana.com/ and “CC BY 4.0” a link to the licence. In print, the text line alone is enough. Cropping, colour edits and captions of your own are all fine; please do not add our name to a photograph we did not take.

Images shown on tripyana.com are our own work unless a caption says otherwise. Those we have released are marked as licensable in search results and point back to this page. Any image not published on the platforms above remains © Tripyana Ltd, all rights reserved — if you would like to use one, or need a higher-resolution or credit-free licence, email info@tripyana.com with the page URL and we will reply within one working day.

- A specific London landmark, street or hotel exterior you need for an article — we may already have it, or can photograph it on a scheduled journey.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a Tripyana photograph commercially?
Yes. CC BY 4.0 allows commercial use, including in advertising, books, brochures and paid publications, as long as the credit line and licence link are shown. No fee is due and no permission needs to be requested for images already published on Wikimedia Commons.
Do I have to credit Tripyana if I use the photo?
Yes for images taken from Wikimedia Commons, because CC BY 4.0 makes attribution a condition of the licence. Use the line “Photo: Tripyana (tripyana.com), CC BY 4.0”. For images taken from Unsplash or Pexels the credit is appreciated but not required by those platforms’ own licences.
May I crop, edit or add text to the image?
Yes. You may crop, resize, colour-correct, add captions or combine the photograph with your own material. The licence only asks that you keep the credit and do not suggest that Tripyana endorses your product or publication.
Are there people or number plates in the photographs?
No recognisable faces are included in the licensed collection and vehicle number plates are blurred before upload, so the images can be used without model or privacy releases. Photographs in which a person is identifiable are deliberately kept out of the public set.
Tripyana is the trading name of TRIPYANA LTD, a licensed private-hire chauffeur company (operator licence PHOP950) registered in England and Wales (company number 16308293) and based in London. The photographs are taken by our team on our own vehicles’ journeys; no stock imagery is included in the licensed collection.
