How long does it take to drive from London to Edinburgh?
About 400 miles (650 km) via the A1(M), or 7 to 8 hours of driving without stops. Day one is therefore split: a two-hour halt in York, or an overnight in York or Durham. Edinburgh comes by the evening.

Can the tour end in Glasgow or include Loch Lomond?
Yes. Glasgow is 1 hour from Edinburgh on the M8 and 30 minutes from Loch Lomond. Guests flying from Glasgow Airport are dropped there; the driver’s solo return is already in the quote.

When is the best time to drive to Scotland, and what should we know?
May to June and September to October. Met Office climate records show spring and early summer as the driest part of the Highland year. June has 17 hours of daylight; autumn is quieter.
- August: Edinburgh festivals fill the city; book hotels three months ahead.
- November to February: daylight ends before 16:00 and the A9 and A82 can close in snow; keep a spare day.
- Weather: rain on Skye is normal in any month; a viewpoint swaps for a castle at no cost.
- Children: a typical day is 3 to 5 hours in the car with a stop every 90 minutes.

Your luggage stays with you, the stops are yours, and the price is one figure for the whole car.
How is a multi-day Scotland trip priced?
Per itinerary, as one written figure for the whole car covering every day. It depends on the vehicle, the days and the hours driven. It includes the chauffeur’s accommodation, fuel, parking and tolls. Guest hotels and tickets are not part of it.
Where do we stop overnight between London and the Highlands?
Edinburgh on night one, then Inverness, Portree on Skye, Fort William or Glasgow, depending on the programme. You choose and book the hotels; we suggest towns that keep the next day under five hours of driving. The driver stays nearby.
Can we change the route once the trip has started?
Yes, within the day’s agreed hours. Swapping Rosslyn Chapel for Stirling Castle needs only a word to the driver the evening before. An extra day or night is quoted separately on the same daily basis.
Which vehicles are available, and how much luggage fits?
Mercedes E-Class and S-Class for up to three passengers with three suitcases. The Mercedes V-Class takes up to seven with seven suitcases, and the Range Rover three with three. Child seats are fitted on request at no charge.
Can the tour finish in Glasgow, Edinburgh or an airport instead of London?
Yes. Many guests end at Glasgow Airport or Edinburgh Airport and fly on. The driver’s empty return to London is built into the quote, so the drop-off point only changes the figure. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup covers the whole booking.
