What is the Windsor Suite, Heathrow’s VIP terminal?

The Windsor Suite is Heathrow’s official private terminal — the same service long used by royalty, heads of state and public figures, and available for private booking. Relaunched as The Windsor in February 2025 after a £3 million refurbishment, it gives you a private entrance beside Terminal 5, luxurious suites, and a team that handles every step from your front door to your aircraft seat.

What does the Windsor Suite include?

A private suite of your own

An exclusive lounge reserved for you and your party alone for the duration of the service — no shared spaces at any point. In effect it is the Heathrow private terminal, used by your party alone.

Butler and VIP liaison officer

A dedicated liaison officer and butler service, with seasonal dining prepared to order between 5:00 and 22:00.

Passport and security in-suite

All formalities are completed inside your suite in complete privacy — no queues and no public halls.

Luxury car across the tarmac

Chauffeured transfer between your suite and the aircraft door across the airfield — in both directions.

Generous luggage handling

Up to 10 pieces of luggage per guest handled for you, and airport shopping delivered to your suite.

Chauffeur transfers on request

Complimentary chauffeur transfers within 25 miles of Heathrow apply to the Black Service tier — request them at the time of booking.

What happens at the Windsor Suite, step by step

Departing: your car drops you at The Windsor’s own front door, next to Terminal 5. Check-in, bags, security and passports are handled in your suite while you dine or rest. When it is time to board, a car takes you over the airfield to the aircraft steps.

Arriving: a team member meets you as you step off the plane, then a car brings you to your suite. Passport control and your luggage are cleared privately while you relax. If you booked a chauffeur, the car is waiting outside when you are ready.

Time in the suite: how long you stay depends on whether you book an arrival, a departure or a connection. The exact timing is confirmed in writing with your price.

How much does the Windsor Suite cost?

The official pricing calculator currently estimates around £4,060 per booking for 1–3 guests — the price covers the group, not each person. The final charge is confirmed at booking and varies with availability, flight details and your selections; additional guests are priced individually.

Worth knowing: because the price covers up to three guests, a party of three effectively pays about £1,353 per person — while a solo traveller carries the full amount alone. If what you really want is speed through the airport rather than the suite itself, compare the VIP Meet & Greet package before you decide.

How do you book the Windsor Suite?

Tripyana arranges Windsor Suite bookings through its accredited partner specialising in premium Heathrow services. Booking is by enquiry — not instant checkout — because the suite is subject to availability and every visit is arranged individually:

1

Send your enquiry

Use our contact form with your flight date and number, guest count, and service mode (arrival, departure or connection).

2

We confirm availability and price

Through our accredited partner — pricing depends on availability, guest numbers and flight details.

3

Your booking is confirmed in writing

With every detail documented, and we can coordinate your chauffeur to and from the airport if you wish — and if you land on a private aircraft at Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Luton or Northolt instead, our private jet terminal chauffeur meets you at the FBO.

Windsor Suite or VIP Meet and Greet?

Most of our travellers don’t need the full private terminal. Here is the honest comparison — and you can read the full Heathrow VIP meet and assist details separately:

The smart alternative for most travellers: the VIP Meet & Greet delivers the heart of the experience — a welcome at the aircraft door, Fast Track through every queue, and full luggage assistance — at a fixed, published price, with the complete door-to-hotel package from £475 for two. Free cancellation up to 36 hours before the service applies to every online booking.

Who should book the Windsor Suite, and how do you plan the day?

The Windsor Suite suits First and Business class travellers who put privacy and time ahead of cost. Settle the flight first, then send full details. That way the suite and your chauffeur are arranged together. For the onward drive, book an S-Class or a chauffeur-driven Range Rover.

Who it suits best

Public figures, families wanting a calm arrival, and parties of three sharing one booking price. A solo traveller who mainly wants speed may get more value from the package compared below.

When to enquire

Enquire as soon as your travel dates are settled. Each visit is arranged individually, and the full cost is kept if you cancel, so a firm itinerary protects you.

Your chauffeur on the day

We can coordinate a Mercedes to and from Heathrow around your suite time. Pickup time and meeting details are set out in writing alongside your suite booking.

What to send with your enquiry:

  • Flight number, date and travel class
  • Arrival, departure or connection
  • Number of travelling guests, plus any infants under two
  • Any non-travelling guests joining you in the suite
  • Your home or hotel address, if you want a chauffeur
  • The lead guest’s full name for the booking

We come back with availability and the confirmed price from our accredited partner before anything is booked.

How early should you arrive at Heathrow’s VIP terminal?

Heathrow sets clear time rules for The Windsor. Plan your car around them, because a missed cut-off is not refunded.

Departures

Arrive at least 90 minutes before your flight. The standard stay is two hours before departure. Want the personal shopper in Terminal 5? Arrive at least two hours before. If you arrive late and the airline cannot accept you, the service is not refunded.

Arrivals

You are met at the aircraft and driven to your lounge. The standard stay is up to one hour after landing. You can leave as soon as your passport check and bags are done.

Connections

The standard stay is up to three hours between flights. More time in the lounge can be arranged at extra cost, subject to availability.

Your car at the door

The Windsor is drop-off and pick-up only, with no parking. A private driver must be registered with Heathrow at least 24 hours ahead, with the driver’s name and the car’s registration. Unregistered cars may be refused entry, so book your chauffeur at least a day before.

If your flight is delayed

Tell the team as soon as you know. Heathrow may be able to move your service, subject to availability. Extra time beyond the standard stay may cost more. Your Tripyana chauffeur tracks the flight number you give us.

Windsor Suite Heathrow FAQs

How much does the Windsor Suite at Heathrow cost?

The official pricing calculator currently estimates just over £4,000 per booking for one to three guests, with the final charge confirmed at booking based on availability, flight details and your selections. Additional guests beyond three are priced individually.

Can I use the Windsor Suite for a connecting flight at Heathrow?

Yes. The Windsor by Heathrow is booked per service: an arrival, a departure or a connection, each one for up to three travellers. On a connection you are met at the aircraft, rest in your own private suite, and are driven across the airfield to your onward flight, so you never walk through the main terminal. Send both flight numbers when you enquire.

Where is the suite, and does it serve all Heathrow terminals?

The Windsor has its own private entrance beside Terminal 5, and it serves flights from every Heathrow terminal — a luxury car drives you across the airfield directly between your suite and your aircraft door, whichever terminal it uses.

Does it include a chauffeur from my home or hotel?

Chauffeur transfers within 25 miles of Heathrow are complimentary on the Black Service tier and must be requested at the time of booking; additional mileage up to 70 miles is available for a per-mile fee.

What is the difference between the Windsor Suite and the VIP Meet and Greet?

The Windsor Suite is a fully private experience outside the terminals at a premium price. The VIP Meet & Greet delivers the essentials inside the terminals — aircraft-door welcome, Fast Track passports, and full assistance — at a published £350 for up to two guests, with an optional VIP lounge at £65 per person. For most travellers the package is the smarter choice.

Is the Windsor Suite worth it for a long-haul arrival or departure from the US?

For a departure, the suite replaces the public terminal entirely: check-in, security and passport control happen inside it, and a car takes you across the tarmac to the aircraft. For an arrival, you are collected at the aircraft door and cleared privately. It suits guests who value privacy and time far above cost.

Who can use the Windsor Suite at Heathrow?

Only passengers flying First or Business class, with any airline, to or from Heathrow. Economy and Premium Economy travellers are not eligible, and children under 18 are welcome with an adult. Heathrow now markets the service as The Windsor by Heathrow. If you fly Economy, VIP Meet and Assist gives you an aircraft-door welcome and Fast Track instead.

Is the Windsor Suite the royal suite at Heathrow?

Heathrow’s VIP service dates back to the 1960s, when it was used by royalty and diplomats, and the commercial Windsor Suite opened to paying travellers in 2009. Heathrow does not sell a separate Royal Suite to the public: the bookable service is the one on this page, open to First and Business class passengers on any airline, from any terminal.

How much is the Windsor Suite for a family?

The base price covers up to three travellers per service, so a couple with one child pays the same as a solo traveller. Larger families pay more: Heathrow’s pricing calculator gives a guide price for groups of up to 12, with infants under two entered separately. Up to two non-travelling guests, such as relatives meeting you, can join the lounge free.

Can I cancel a Windsor Suite booking?

You can cancel, but Heathrow keeps the full cost in every case unless Heathrow itself cancels the service. Changes are allowed up to 12 hours before your service, subject to availability, and traveller details can be updated until 48 hours before. Book only once your flight is fixed.

How far in advance should I enquire about the Windsor Suite?

Enquire once your travel dates and flight are settled, and the earlier the better. The suite is offered by availability and arranged individually for each visit. Because cancelling forfeits the full cost, a firm itinerary before you book protects your money.

Can Tripyana arrange my chauffeur around a Windsor Suite booking?

Yes, we can coordinate a Tripyana chauffeur to and from Heathrow around your suite time. Give us your home or hotel address when you enquire. The pickup time is then confirmed in writing. The chauffeur is booked separately from the suite itself.
