When is Winter Wonderland London 2026?

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2026 starts on Thursday 19 November 2026, when the gates open at noon, and closes for the season on Sunday 3 January 2027. It is open every day in between except Christmas Day. It closes at 10pm each night, with last entry at 9.30pm. Weekends open at 10am, while many weekdays open later, at 11am or noon, so check your date before you book.

Once you have your arrival slot, book your chauffeur to set you down on the Hyde Park Corner or Marble Arch side shortly before it.

Tickets: general sale is now open on hydeparkwinterwonderland.com, after an exclusive subscriber pre-sale that began on Tuesday 11 August 2026. Every visitor, whatever their age, needs a timed entry ticket for a one-hour arrival slot between 10am and 8pm.

Opening hours: gates close at 10pm every night and last entry is 9.30pm. These dates open later; every other day opens at 10am: noon on 19–20 and 23–26 November, 30 November and 2 December; 2pm on 1 December; 11am on 27 November, 3–4, 7–11 and 14–18 December, and 28 December to 1 January. The park is closed on 25 December.

Christmas Day and Boxing Day 2026

Christmas Day, Friday 25 December, is the only day of the season the park stays shut. Christmas Eve (Thursday 24 December) and Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December) both run full hours, 10am until 10pm.

New Year: from Monday 28 December to New Year’s Day, Friday 1 January 2027, the first slot is 11am, and the season ends on Sunday 3 January. Our chauffeurs drive through the whole holiday, 25 December included, so a Boxing Day visit can start with a pickup from your hotel or home.

What’s inside

Winter Wonderland fills the eastern side of Hyde Park with fairground rides from family carousels to full-scale thrill rides, an ice rink, ice sculptures, circus and live shows, and long alleys of Christmas market chalets selling gifts, sweets and hot food. It is one of Europe’s biggest seasonal events, and even without going on a single ride the lights, the smells of roasted chestnuts and the market atmosphere make the visit worth it. From late November, Bath Christmas Market adds a second festive day out: our private tour to Stonehenge and Bath pairs it with the stone circle in about ten hours, door to door.

Getting there — and the December parking reality

By car, the honest picture: the organisers ask visitors to avoid driving where possible, and street or garage parking around Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch in December is busy and expensive. If you would rather not hunt for a space in the cold, a private transfer with a waiting driver removes the problem entirely. For Winter Wonderland Hyde Park, the simplest way is to book a chauffeur for several hours, from £230 (≈ $310) for four hours: your driver waits nearby for the whole visit, and the drive back starts whenever you walk out.

Best times for families

Based on how previous seasons ran: weekday daytimes are the calm window — shorter queues for rides, easier walking with a pram, and daylight for the little ones. Evenings are the spectacle, with every light on, but they are also the busiest and coldest slot, and weekends amplify both. Going early in the season, before schools break up in mid-December, has typically been quieter still. Dress warmer than you think you need — most of the site is open-air.

How long can you stay at Winter Wonderland?

As long as you like. The organisers confirm that once you are through the gate, you can stay for the rest of the day. Your timed ticket only fixes when you arrive: you choose a one-hour window between 10am and 8pm and enter within it, and after that nobody hurries you out before closing.

That is why many American visitors pick an afternoon slot. Come in daylight for the rides and the market chalets, eat early, then stay on as the park lights up. London gets dark early in December, so even a 2pm arrival gives you both the daytime visit and the evening glow in one ticket.

The season’s last day, 3 January, will also be a Family Fun Day, with details still to be announced.

Because your stay is open-ended, plan the car around the visit you want rather than the slot printed on the ticket. Drop-off, pick-up and timing around Hyde Park

Your chauffeur sets you down as near your chosen entrance as the road allows. Tell us the Hyde Park Corner or Marble Arch side when you book. Park Lane is slow on December evenings, so we plan the route around your arrival slot, not the clock.

Before you walk in, agree a return meeting point with your driver. It saves a cold wait at a crowded gate when everyone leaves together.

• Arriving: aim to reach the gate shortly before your slot opens, as queues build at peak times.
• Leaving late: tell your driver roughly when you plan to come out, then call a few minutes before you exit.
• Children and pushchairs: request a child seat when you book and mention a folding pushchair, so the right car arrives.
• Bigger groups: the V-Class seats up to seven, with space for a pushchair and bags of market shopping.
• Tired little ones: a warm car waiting nearby means no long walk across the park at the end of the night. The same door-to-door service covers other family outings, such as a theme park day with a chauffeur.

Which Winter Wonderland gate should we be dropped at?

Winter Wonderland has four entry gates. Blue Gate is on the south side, near Hyde Park Corner. Green Gate is on the west side, towards Knightsbridge. Gold Gate sits to the north, towards Marble Arch, and the Red family gate faces east, near Marble Arch and Bond Street.

Choose the gate closest to what you want first. Blue Gate leads to the ice rink, Green Gate to the Bavarian Village, Red Gate to Santa Land. Name your gate when you book, and your chauffeur plans the drop-off around it.

Bags matter as well. Only small handbags or rucksacks up to A4 size are allowed, and every bag is searched at the gate. There is no left luggage on site. Leave spare coats, shopping and larger bags in the car with your driver.

Is Winter Wonderland accessible for wheelchair users?

Yes. Every entrance is step-free, using the park’s own tarmac paths. All four gates have a signposted accessible queuing lane, and the Red Gate is usually the quietest.

The event publishes an access guide and a ride accessibility chart. Check your chosen rides before you go. On Tuesday 1 December, the site closes to the public from 10am to 2pm for Winter Wishes, a dedicated accessible session.

What’s new at Winter Wonderland this year?

The organisers have announced several additions for the 2026 run. The Magical Ice Kingdom takes a Peter Pan theme this year, an escape to Neverland carved in ice, created in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. Gandeys K-Pop Dragon Circus is a brand-new big-top show, and Christmas by Candlelight is a new concert of singalong classics performed by West End stars.

For visitors who want to see the highlights without planning a route, there is a new VIP Tour Experience that skips the queues. Packages have been reworked, and there are more ride passes that bundle favourite rides into one ticket. Shows such as the circus and the concert run at set times, so book those first and plan your arrival slot around the start time.

A timed show changes the shape of the evening. Share the performance time with us at booking, and your driver drops you at the gate nearest the venue with time to spare. If the concert finishes late, ring your driver as you leave the show; the car stays close by on the side you entered, warm and ready, with room for coats and any market shopping.
