In previous seasons the site typically opened from morning until late evening and closed on 25 December only — treat that as precedent, not promise, and check the official website before you book anything.
What’s inside
Winter Wonderland fills the eastern side of Hyde Park with fairground rides from family carousels to full-scale thrill rides, an ice rink, ice sculptures, circus and live shows, and long alleys of Christmas market chalets selling gifts, sweets and hot food. It is one of Europe’s biggest seasonal events, and even without going on a single ride the lights, the smells of roasted chestnuts and the market atmosphere make the visit worth it.
Getting there — and the December parking reality
By Underground, three stations serve the park: Hyde Park Corner and Knightsbridge (Piccadilly line) and Marble Arch (Central line). Trains get crowded on December evenings, especially with prams and shopping bags.
