Met at the aircraft door. Delivered to the right hands.
A named representative at the door, immigration and baggage handled together, and a documented handover to the person you nominated.
- From £300 — priced by arrival airport
Licence PHOP950Tripyana’s student airport pickup is priced per booking by arrival airport: £350 at Heathrow, up to £480 at London City. A representative meets the student at the aircraft door, stays with them to the baggage hall, and hands them to the adult you named, with photo updates. The car is added at its fixed fare. Under 18: £100 extra.
The service is built for one situation: a first arrival in the UK after a long flight. It runs at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City, 24 hours a day, and ends only when a named person signs for the student — a university representative, a school guardian, a relative, or the door of the halls.
What families and universities get
One published price
One published figure per arrival airport, with a fixed supplement for under-18s, agreed before the flight and not touched afterwards. No waiting charges and no night surcharge.
Never alone in the terminal
The representative is inside the arrivals corridor with a name board before the doors open, and stays with the student through immigration and baggage.
A handover on record
We release the student only to the person named on your written authorisation, check their ID, and photograph the handover for the parent.
How Much Does a Student Airport Pickup in London Cost?
A student pickup costs the meet-and-assist package of the arrival airport, so the figure changes by airport; the full list is in the first question below. Both rates cover the aircraft-door meet and the terminal escort; the private car is added at its fixed transfer fare. For a student under 18 we need written consent from a parent or guardian before the flight, by email, with their name, phone number and authorisation for the collection.

Send the flight and the address

Name who may collect
You sign a short parental authorisation naming who may receive the student, and we confirm the meeting point with them before the flight.
Pay online and follow along
Instant email confirmation, then photo updates at landing, immigration, baggage and handover.
Which London Airports and Terminals Do You Cover?
All five London airports, at every terminal: Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 at Heathrow, the North and South terminals at Gatwick, and the single terminals at Stansted, Luton and London City. The terminal is read from the flight number, so nobody works it out on the day.
Students on connecting flights are collected at the final London arrival, not the first landing. If the itinerary changes, send the new flight number and the pickup moves with it.

What Happens If the Flight Is Delayed?
Nothing changes for the family. Every booking is tracked against the live arrival time and the representative’s shift moves with the aircraft. The 60 free minutes start when the wheels touch down, not at the scheduled time, so a two-hour delay is not a two-hour bill.
Because the representative is with the student inside the terminal, time spent in the immigration queue is part of the service, not an extra. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup covers a flight moved to another day.
Can a Student Bring Extra Luggage to Halls?
Yes, and the car choice is what makes it work. A student moving in for a full academic year rarely travels with one case. The Mercedes E-Class takes 3 passengers and 2 bags; the Mercedes V-Class takes 7 passengers and 7 bags, which is the realistic choice for a first arrival with a year’s belongings.
Tell us the number of cases at booking and the right vehicle is assigned, so a family arriving together for the settling-in week travels in one car with the luggage.
Can the Family Arrive Together and Go Straight to the University?
Yes. The car is booked per journey, not per seat, so parents on the same flight share the student’s car. Give us the party size and the case count at booking. Seven people and seven cases fit the V-Class; beyond that we add a second car at a written fare.
September arrival week. The Student visa allows entry up to 1 month before a course longer than 6 months (source: gov.uk). A late-September start can therefore be reached from late August. Book the meet once the flight is ticketed; the fare is fixed at booking and does not rise with demand.
After the airport the same chauffeur continues to the campus. The onward drive is priced as its own journey, added to the pickup fare and confirmed in writing. Our guide to what a chauffeur costs in London explains how distance and time shape that fare.
| Onward destination | E-Class | V-Class | S-Class | Range Rover | Package |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oxford — 8-hour day package; the car stays for the halls check-in | £470 | £560 | £720 | £830 | Oxford day trip |
| Manchester — full day, 4 to 9 hours | £870 | £950 | £1,100 | £1,230 | London to Manchester chauffeur |
| Cambridge · Reading · Brighton · Southampton · Warwick / Coventry | Quoted per university — written figure before booking | ||||
| Extra hour beyond the Oxford package | £55 | £60 | £80 | £95 | Every started hour counts as a full hour; beyond the Manchester package each hour is £45 · £60 · £70 · £80 |
Does Every Student Need the Full Meet, or Can Friends Share a Car?
It depends on age. A student under 18 is booked only as the airport reception package, with the under-18 supplement and written consent from a parent or guardian sent before the flight. There is no plain-car option for a minor travelling alone.
A student aged 18 or over can book a normal private airport transfer instead. The chauffeur tracks the flight, waits in arrivals with a name board and allows 60 free minutes after landing. Parents who still want a representative at the aircraft door can choose the reception package for an adult too.
Friends on the same flight. One car can carry the group, because the fare is per car, not per person. One person books, lists every name and the total number of cases, and we assign the E-Class or the V-Class to fit. Give each drop-off address at booking and we confirm the route and the fare in writing before the flight.
Friends landing on different flights, or at different airports, need separate bookings. If anyone in the group is under 18, that student still needs the reception package and a signed consent from home.
Can a Parent Abroad Book and Pay From Home?
Yes. The booking is paid online by card from anywhere in the world, and the confirmation email arrives at once with the price, the vehicle, the tracked flight and the name of the person authorised to receive the student. Nothing is paid in cash at the airport.
What If the Student Lands Before Halls Open?
The car takes the student to the first-night address the family has arranged, and on to halls another day. Many residences release keys only on set move-in dates and during reception hours. A night landing, or a flight days before term, often meets a closed desk.
We do not reserve rooms. The family books a hotel near the campus, or a relative’s home, and sends us that address. The later drive to the residence is booked as its own journey, with the fare confirmed in writing.
What parents should send before the flight.
- The student’s mobile number, and whether it will work on landing in the UK.
- The halls address, the move-in date and the key-collection hours from the university’s email.
- The first-night address, if it is not the halls.
- A second family contact who will be awake at the landing time.
- The number of suitcases, plus any large item such as a bike box or instrument case.
The same check matters for campuses beyond London, such as Reading, Cambridge or Oxford. Compare the reception closing time with the landing time plus the drive. If the car would reach campus after the desk shuts, plan the first night nearby. For students heading to Reading, a Heathrow to Reading private car goes straight from arrivals to the campus.
Frequently Asked Questions About Student Airport Pickup
How much is a student airport pickup in London?
It depends on the arrival airport: £300 at Luton, £310 at Gatwick, £350 at Heathrow, £430 at Stansted and £480 at London City, per booking. Under 18, it is the airport package plus £100, with written consent from a parent. The price covers the aircraft-door meet and the escort through immigration and baggage; the car is added at its fixed transfer fare.
Where exactly is the student met?
At the aircraft door. Our authorised representative waits in the arrivals corridor with a name board before passengers disembark, so the student does not walk through the airport alone at any point. The meeting arrangement is confirmed by email before departure.
Who is allowed to collect the student at the end?
Only the person named on the parental authorisation you sign at booking — a university representative, a school or guardianship officer, or a relative. We check their identity before releasing the student and send the parent a photograph of the handover.
Do you take students to universities outside London?
Yes. After the airport meet the same chauffeur drives the student on to Oxford, Cambridge, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Brighton or any other UK campus. Long routes are quoted per journey before booking; London to Manchester is £870 as a full-day package covering 4 to 9 hours.
Does this replace the airline’s unaccompanied minor service?
No, it continues from it. Airline unaccompanied minor services end when staff hand the child over in the arrivals hall. Our representative takes over there, completes the terminal formalities and delivers the student to the person you authorised, or to their accommodation.
Is Tripyana licensed to carry students?
Yes. Tripyana is a licensed UK private hire operator, and the licence and company numbers are printed in the footer of this page. Every journey is a pre-booked, insured private hire driven by a professional chauffeur, and every airport meet is carried out by an authorised representative working inside the terminal.
How do parents follow the journey while the student is in the terminal?
Through photo updates sent at every stage: landing, immigration, baggage and the final handover. You see each step as it happens instead of waiting by the phone, and our representative stays reachable by email and telephone throughout the meet, from the aircraft door to the agreed handover.
Do you work directly with universities and boarding schools?
Yes. We coordinate with international student offices and school representatives, and we arrange group arrivals for institutions welcoming several students on the same day. Ask for a written quote through our contact page and we will confirm the handover procedure with the university or school before the flight.
Do parents travelling with the student pay for their own seats?
No. The fare is per journey, not per seat. Parents on the same flight ride with the student for the price already agreed. Tell us the party size when booking; if you also want the terminal escort arranged for the parents, ask at booking and we confirm it in writing.
How early should we book a September arrival?
As soon as the flight is ticketed. The Student visa admits a student up to 1 month before a course of more than 6 months. The earliest arrival date therefore follows the course start. The fare is fixed when you book and does not change with the date. A changed flight number moves the pickup with it.
How much is a student airport pickup in US dollars?
About $475 per student booking at Heathrow and $610 for a traveller under 18 at the current rate — estimates only. Fares are set and charged in pounds sterling, so your card issuer’s exchange rate on the day decides the exact dollar amount. The price covers the meet and the escort for that booking, not each traveller.
Do you meet students arriving at Heathrow on flights from the US and Canada?
Yes, at any terminal and on any airline. Give us the flight number and we track it from departure, so an overnight arrival that lands early or late is met all the same. Our representative is at the aircraft door when the student steps off, and you receive a photo update at each stage until the handover.
Book the arrival, not the worry.
