- Beachy Head:a pub and toilets near the main car park, handy for a late lunch on the drive home.

When is the best time for the cliffs, and what should we know?
April to October for the clifftop walk; the Royal Pavilion and the pier work in any month.
- Wind on the cliffs:the Seven Sisters path is open and exposed; bring a jacket even in July and stay behind the edge.
- Pavilion tickets:book a timed slot online for a weekend visit; weekdays rarely need it.
- Summer weekends:the seafront fills after 11:00; an early pickup puts you in the Pavilion before the crowds.
- Winter:daylight ends before 16:30 from November to January, so the cliffs come first and the pier last.
- Arriving through Gatwick:the airport sits on the Brighton road, so a private transfer from Gatwick to central London on landing day leaves the coast for a rested morning.

Which Seven Sisters viewpoint should we choose, and how do we stay safe?
Seaford Head gives the famous full view; Birling Gap puts you on the shingle under the chalk. Most visitors see both, and the driver moves the car between them while you walk. Walking the whole clifftop from Cuckmere Haven to Birling Gap takes about two to three hours over the steep rises and dips of the chalk, and with the car waiting at the far end there is no walk back.
- Seaford Head:the classic postcard view, with the coastguard cottages in front and all seven cliffs lined up behind them.
- Cuckmere Haven:the river winds across the valley to a shingle beach. It is the best spot for a slow walk and a picnic.
- Birling Gap:the only easy way down to the beach beneath the cliffs, so you see the chalk face from below.
- Beachy Head:the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, about ten minutes east of Birling Gap. A red-and-white lighthouse stands on the rocks below.
Short on time or travelling with grandparents? Pick one viewpoint. Seaford Head suits photographs, Birling Gap suits children who want the beach. Beachy Head makes a good last stop on the way home, as the lookout sits close to the car.
The cliffs are beautiful and genuinely dangerous. A few simple habits keep the day relaxed:
- Keep well back from the edge:there are no fences, the chalk overhangs and pieces break away without warning.
- On the beach below:stay clear of the cliff foot, where rockfalls land, and leave before the incoming tide reaches the steps.
- Wear grippy shoes:the grass turns slippery after rain, and the clifftop climbs steeply in places.
- Pack a windproof layer:it is often several degrees cooler on top than on the Brighton seafront.
If the weather turns, the plan simply flips: Brighton’s indoor sights take the wet hours, and the cliffs wait for the brighter spell.
Can wheelchair users and less mobile travellers enjoy the day?
Yes, with a little planning, and the car does most of the work. Your driver sets you down at each entrance and waits nearby.
At the Royal Pavilion, the ground floor is open to wheelchair users, and wheelchairs can be borrowed on request. The upper floor is reached by stairs only.
At Birling Gap, Blue Badge spaces sit in front of the café building, a few steps from the cliff views. The beach below is 55 steps down, so it suits steady walkers only.

Can I book the Seven Sisters trip for tomorrow?
Often, yes, but it depends on a free car and driver for that date. Message us first and we confirm the driver in writing before you pay; booking at least the day before gives the widest choice of car.
How is the price worked out for a family?
One fixed price for the whole car, return — from £550 in the Mercedes E-Class — covering the day’s hours, fuel, parking and tolls. Two travellers or seven pay the same for the same car; only the vehicle class changes it, and extra hours are added on the booking form at a fixed hourly rate. Tickets and meals are not part of it.
Where does the pickup happen?
At any London hotel, apartment or address, or at Heathrow, Gatwick and the other London airports. Pickup runs between 8:00am and 12:00 noon; an early start suits the cliffs, a later one suits a Brighton-only day with a long lunch.
Can we change the stops on the day?
Yes, within the agreed hours. Swapping Birling Gap for Lewes, adding Arundel Castle or skipping the pier needs only a word to the driver. Extra hours beyond the plan are added on the booking form at a fixed hourly rate.
How much walking is involved at the Seven Sisters?
As little or as much as you like. The Seaford Head viewpoint is a five-minute walk from the car park; the clifftop path to Cuckmere Haven takes about 20 minutes each way on grass, and pushchairs manage the first section. At Birling Gap, steps lead down to the beach beneath the cliffs, a short walk from the car.
Which vehicles are available, and how much luggage fits?
Mercedes E-Class and S-Class for up to three passengers with two suitcases; the Mercedes V-Class for up to seven with seven suitcases; the Range Rover for four with four suitcases. Child seats are fitted on request at no charge.
Is Brighton worth a day trip from London?

How long is the drive from London to Brighton?
About two hours from Mayfair to the Palace Pier for departures from 8:00am to noon on a weekday, under two hours at night and about two and a half hours at the 4:00pm peak, for the 54 miles or so via the M23 and A23. How much is the trip in US dollars?
About $745 for the Mercedes E-Class and $835 for the V-Class at the current rate — estimates only. Fares are set and charged in pounds sterling, so your card issuer’s exchange rate on the day decides the exact dollar amount. The price covers the car, not each passenger, and there is nothing extra to pay for a second or third traveller.
Can I cancel, and how do I pay?
Yes. Cancel at least 24 hours before pickup and any card payment is refunded in full; inside 24 hours the fare is charged. Pay by card in the booking form when you book, or choose cash and settle with the driver in pounds sterling on the day.
Is the driver also a tour guide?
No. Your chauffeur is a professional driver, not a licensed tour guide: the job is the drive, the timing and waiting at the Pavilion, the pier and the cliffs while you visit. Is the Seven Sisters trip worth doing in winter?
Yes. Winter brings empty clifftop paths, low sun on the white chalk and a quieter Brighton seafront. The trip runs all year at the same fixed price for the car. Sunset comes around 4pm, so your driver takes you to the Seven Sisters first while it is light, then on to Brighton for the Royal Pavilion, the Lanes and an early dinner before the drive back.
