April to October for the clifftop walk; the Royal Pavilion and the pier work in any month.
- Wind on the cliffs:the Seven Sisters path is open and exposed; bring a jacket even in July and stay behind the edge.
- Pavilion tickets:book a timed slot online for a weekend visit; weekdays rarely need it.
- Summer weekends:the seafront fills after 11:00; an early pickup puts you in the Pavilion before the crowds.
- Winter:daylight ends before 16:30 from November to January, so the cliffs come first and the pier last.
- Arriving through Gatwick:the airport sits on the Brighton road, so a private transfer from Gatwick to central London on landing day leaves the coast for a rested morning.

How much walking is involved at the Seven Sisters?
As little or as much as you like. The Seaford Head viewpoint is a five-minute walk from the car park; the clifftop path to Cuckmere Haven takes about 20 minutes each way on grass, and pushchairs manage the first section.
