When is Winter Wonderland London 2026?

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland runs from Thursday 19 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, every day except Christmas Day. It closes at 10pm each night, with last entry at 9.30pm. Weekends open at 10am, while many weekdays open later, at 11am or noon, so check your date before you book.

Once you have your arrival slot, book your chauffeur to set you down on the Hyde Park Corner or Marble Arch side shortly before it.

Tickets: general sale is now open on hydeparkwinterwonderland.com, after an exclusive subscriber pre-sale that began on Tuesday 11 August 2026. Every visitor, whatever their age, needs a timed entry ticket for a one-hour arrival slot between 10am and 8pm.

Opening hours: gates close at 10pm every night and last entry is 9.30pm. These dates open later; every other day opens at 10am: noon on 19–20 and 23–26 November, 30 November and 2 December; 2pm on 1 December; 11am on 27 November, 3–4, 7–11 and 14–18 December, and 28 December to 1 January. The park is closed on 25 December.

What’s inside

Winter Wonderland fills the eastern side of Hyde Park with fairground rides from family carousels to full-scale thrill rides, an ice rink, ice sculptures, circus and live shows, and long alleys of Christmas market chalets selling gifts, sweets and hot food. It is one of Europe’s biggest seasonal events, and even without going on a single ride the lights, the smells of roasted chestnuts and the market atmosphere make the visit worth it.

Getting there — and the December parking reality

By car, the honest picture: the event has no visitor parking, and street or garage parking around Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch in December is scarce, expensive and often full by early afternoon. If you would rather not gamble on a space in the cold, a private transfer with a waiting driver removes the problem entirely. For Winter Wonderland Hyde Park, the simplest way is to book a chauffeur by the hour: your driver waits nearby for the whole visit, and the drive back starts whenever you walk out.

Best times for families

Based on how previous seasons ran: weekday daytimes are the calm window — shorter queues for rides, easier walking with a pram, and daylight for the little ones. Evenings are the spectacle, with every light on, but they are also the busiest and coldest slot, and weekends amplify both. Going early in the season, before schools break up in mid-December, has typically been quieter still. Dress warmer than you think you need — most of the site is open-air.

Watch the visit before you book

A short film that walks through the visit: the 2026 dates, your hotel pickup, what is inside the park, timed tickets, the December parking problem, the calmest times for families, and London's Christmas lights after the park.

Winter Wonderland London transfers — door to gate, no parking hunt

Our private driver hire in London is built for exactly this kind of evening: pickup at your hotel door, drop-off as close to the Winter Wonderland gates as traffic rules allow, your driver waiting while you enjoy the park, and a warm car back whenever you are ready. Child seats on request, room for prams and shopping, and no fixed return slot.

Staying in Mayfair or Knightsbridge? You are minutes away. Coming from further out — Canary Wharf, Wembley, or an airport hotel — the fixed price for your route appears instantly in the booking engine before you confirm.

Drop-off, pick-up and timing around Hyde Park

Your chauffeur sets you down as near your chosen entrance as the road allows. Tell us the Hyde Park Corner or Marble Arch side when you book. Park Lane is slow on December evenings, so we plan the route around your arrival slot, not the clock.

Before you walk in, agree a return meeting point with your driver. It saves a cold wait at a crowded gate when everyone leaves together.

  • Arriving: aim to reach the gate shortly before your slot opens, as queues build at peak times.
  • Leaving late: tell your driver roughly when you plan to come out, then call a few minutes before you exit.
  • Children and pushchairs: request a child seat when you book and mention a folding pushchair, so the right car arrives.
  • Bigger groups: the V-Class seats up to seven, with space for a buggy and bags of market shopping.
  • Tired little ones: a warm car waiting nearby means no long walk across the park at the end of the night. The same door-to-door service covers other family outings, such as a theme park day with a chauffeur.

Still have energy after the park? Plan the evening as one booking: Winter Wonderland first, then a slow drive past the Oxford Street, Regent Street and Carnaby Street lights. Your driver stays with you, so there is no second pickup to arrange.

Frequently asked questions

When is Winter Wonderland London 2026?

Winter Wonderland 2026 opens on Thursday 19 November 2026 and runs every day until Sunday 3 January 2027, with Christmas Day the only closure. The quietest slots are weekday mornings in late November, so pick your date early and book your car around it.

When do Winter Wonderland 2026 tickets go on sale?

Tickets for the 2026 season are on sale now on the official website. Newsletter subscribers had an exclusive pre-sale from Tuesday 11 August 2026. Book your arrival slot first, then arrange your transfer around it so you reach the gates in time.

Is entry to Winter Wonderland free?

No. Every visitor needs an entry ticket, even young children. Off-peak slots at quieter times are the cheapest, and rides, shows and attractions are priced separately on top of entry. Check current prices when you choose your slot.

What are the Winter Wonderland opening hours?

Gates close at 10pm every night, with last entry at 9.30pm. Opening time changes by date: 10am at weekends and on most days from 21 December, but 11am, noon or even 2pm on many weekdays in November and December. Choose your slot first, then book your car to arrive about fifteen minutes before it.

Is Winter Wonderland open on Christmas Day?

No. It closes for one day only, 25 December, and is open every other day of the season until 3 January 2027. Our private chauffeurs work as normal that day for other plans in the city.

How far is Winter Wonderland from Mayfair and Knightsbridge hotels?

Very close — Hyde Park borders Mayfair along Park Lane and Knightsbridge along its southern edge, so most hotels in both districts are a few minutes away on foot or by car, depending on which entrance you use.

Can I get to Winter Wonderland by car?

The event has no visitor parking, and public parking around Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch is scarce and expensive in December. The practical option is a private transfer with a driver who drops you near the gates and waits.

What is the best time to visit for families?

In previous seasons, weekday daytimes — especially earlier in the run, before schools break up in mid-December — were noticeably calmer than evenings and weekends. Many weekdays open at 11am or noon rather than 10am, so check your date and take the first slot of the day for the calmest visit.

How long does a visit take?

Most visitors spend around three to five hours covering the rides, the markets and a meal. With a private transfer your driver simply waits until you are done, so you are not tied to a fixed return time.

How much is a chauffeur to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park?

Book it as hourly hire, from £230 for four hours. Your chauffeur collects you at your hotel, drops you as close to the gates as traffic rules allow, waits during your visit and drives you back when you are ready. The exact price for your hotel appears instantly in the online booking engine before you confirm.

Can I book a private transfer to Winter Wonderland London for an evening visit?

Yes. Book a return transfer and your chauffeur collects you from your hotel, waits nearby while you are in the park and drives you back when you leave. Last entry is 9.30pm and the gates close at 10pm, so an evening slot works well. Child seats are available on request, and there is room for prams and shopping bags.

Where will the chauffeur pick us up after Winter Wonderland?

At a meeting point you agree with your chauffeur when you are dropped off, usually on the same side of the park you entered. Call your driver a few minutes before you leave and the car will be ready nearby, even after a late evening visit.
