Which private UK tours can you book, from a 2-day weekend trip from London to five days?
Every programme has a day-by-day plan and a price for the whole car. Prices shown are for a Mercedes E-Class; each page lists the larger cars.

How does a private tour programme work?
A programme is a set of consecutive days with the same car and chauffeur, booked in one go. You never book or pay day by day.
Choose a programme and a date
Open the programme page, choose the first day and a pick-up time, then the car. The other days follow automatically.
Pay one total
The form shows a single price for every day. Pay by card online, or choose cash and pay your chauffeur on day one.
Travel with your chauffeur
Your confirmation lists every day with its times. Your chauffeur collects you each morning and waits at every stop.
What does a day on a private UK tour look like?
Each day follows the plan on your confirmation, but the pace is yours. This is how a typical day runs on any of our programmes, in London or in the country.
- Morning pick-up
Your chauffeur meets you at your hotel at the time you chose when booking. On countryside days an early start, around 8 or 9 am, reaches the first village or castle before its busiest hours.
- At every stop
You step out at the entrance and explore at your own pace. The car waits for you, and coats, bags and shopping stay inside, so you only carry what you need.
- Lunch and breaks
Eat where you like, from a village pub to a riverside café, and ask for a coffee or comfort stop whenever you want one. Your chauffeur knows good places along each route.
- Evening drop-off
The day ends back at your hotel, or at the next one on days when you move on. Your chauffeur confirms the next morning’s time before you say goodnight.
How much does a private UK tour cost?
Prices are per car, never per person, so a family of four pays the same as a couple in the same vehicle. Every price includes the car, the chauffeur, fuel, parking and road charges. Unlike UK tour packages that bundle flights and hotels, your flights and rooms stay yours to choose, so you can fly in from the USA or anywhere else and book the hotels you prefer.
- Days in London
Each city day is up to eight hours with the car, starting from your hotel.
- Days in the countryside
Longer days out, such as Stonehenge and Bath, are part of each programme’s fixed price, shown on its page.
- Nights away from London
When the tour sleeps outside London, the chauffeur’s hotel is included at £100 a night (£249 in Scotland).
- Bigger groups
The V-Class seats seven with luggage; each programme page lists its price.

Planning a private England tour from the USA?
Most of our guests fly in overnight, so a good plan starts with how you land. These are the points American travelers check before they book.
- Landing day
Pick the Cotswolds programme, which starts at Heathrow: your chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign, then drives you to your first country hotel. Day one is only that drive, so you can rest.
- Starting in London
The London programmes begin at your hotel door. Add an airport pick-up for the day you land, then start the 4-day London programme the next morning, once the jet lag has eased.
- Dollars and pounds
Each programme page shows its price in pounds with an approximate US dollar figure. You are charged in pounds sterling, by card on the booking form or in cash to your chauffeur at the start of the tour.
- A finer car
For luxury tours of England, the same programme runs in a Mercedes S-Class, with reclining rear seats for two, or a Range Rover that takes four suitcases. Each programme page lists the cars it offers.
How do you put together England and Scotland tour packages of your own?
Most UK tour packages from the USA bundle the flight, the hotels and a seat on a coach. With us you keep the flights and rooms you want, and a single chauffeur covers every road day in between. Three choices shape the trip.
- How many days
Allow ten days or more for both countries: four in London, a day driving north through York, then three or four in Edinburgh and the Highlands. With a week or less, pick one country and see it properly.
- Flights in and out
Book an open-jaw ticket: land at Heathrow and fly home from Edinburgh or Glasgow. The tour then ends at the departures door instead of a long drive back south.
- One budget, two parts
Price the London days from the programme page, then ask for the Scotland route as one quote. The chauffeur’s nights away are already counted in it, so the two figures together are the whole ground cost.
Which tour programme suits your trip?
Start from what you want to see and how you arrive. These are the questions our guests ask most when choosing.
First visit to London
Three to five days based at your London hotel, mixing the city’s landmarks with one or two famous places outside it. It is the simplest way to combine tours of London and England without changing hotels.
Countryside and villages
The Cotswolds tour starts at Heathrow and moves you between two country hotels, so you wake up in the villages.
A road trip or a cruise
The England road trip sleeps on the way and can finish at Southampton for your ship.

How long should your UK tour be?
Match the programme to the days you have. Two days suit one region. Three to five suit London with famous places nearby, and a week suits two programmes back to back.
- Two days
Snowdonia is our shortest programme, with one night in North Wales. The two-day Snowdonia tour fits well after a few days in London.
- Three to five days
Stay at one London hotel and add Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath or the Cotswolds as day trips. The England road trip also starts at three days, sleeping on the way.
- A week or longer
Book a London programme first, then a regional one for the days after. You book your own hotels for each stage, and the chauffeur follows the plan.
- Scotland or the Lake District
Both are long drives from London, so they are planned around your days. Paired with a London programme, Scotland turns the trip into an England and Scotland tour with a private car and chauffeur every day. Our Edinburgh and the Highlands programme runs over several days, so you see more than the road.
Season matters most in the north. Scotland, Wales and the Lake District have their longest daylight from May to August. London and the Cotswolds work in every season, and short winter days favour city sightseeing.
Which programme fits your group and your season?
Start with who is travelling and when. Each programme below suits a different pace, from city days to nights in the country.
- Families with children
London programmes keep one hotel, so nobody repacks each night. Our 5-day London programme can include a family day at the Harry Potter studios. Child seats are fitted on request at no charge.
- Couples who want the countryside
The Cotswolds tour from Heathrow suits a slow pace, with short drives between villages and long lunches. It runs in every season, and October brings golden trees to the villages.
- Cruise passengers
Sailing from Southampton? Our multi-day tour of England visits the Cotswolds, Bath and Stonehenge with nights on the road. It can end at the port for your ship.
- Walkers and lake lovers
The Lake District tour from London is best from May to September, when daylight is long. Plan two days with one night, because the drive north takes 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours each way.
- Winter visitors
From November to February, a city programme makes the most of short days. The 3-day London programme pairs Royal London and the Tower with a day out to Windsor.
Which multi-day tours from London work in November and December?
Late autumn and the run-up to Christmas suit the programmes based in London well, while the routes north need more care with daylight and weather. This is how each one changes.
- A programme based in London
Take the day out of town in the morning light, and keep museums, shows and the Christmas lights for the early evenings in the city. Our five-day London plan for November and December shows how Bath, Bibury and Windsor fit around the shorter days.
- Five days in the Cotswolds
The villages are quieter once the autumn colour has gone, and the short drives between them suit the early sunsets. Walk the lanes first and save a long lunch for the afternoon.
- Snowdonia, the Lakes and Scotland
The north has the least daylight, and snow can reach the high roads. Plan fewer stops each day and keep the longest drive for the morning.
- Christmas week
Several sights change their opening days around 25 December. Check the festive dates of each place before you fix day one, then add them to the booking notes.
How far ahead should you book a private UK tour?
Book as soon as your flights and hotels are confirmed. One car and one chauffeur are held for all your days. An early booking secures every date together.
June to August fills first, along with Easter and the school holidays. Those weeks also bring the busiest roads and villages. Book well ahead for them, and choose early morning starts.
Booking early carries little risk. Cancellation is free until 24 hours before the first pick-up. You can secure the car now and confirm the details later.
Send your hotel names and flight number once you have them. Your chauffeur then plans each day’s times around them.
What do you book yourself, and what do we arrange?
We arrange the car and the chauffeur for all your days, including the driver’s own nights on tours that stay away from London. Three things stay in your hands, and booking them early keeps each day running smoothly.
- Your hotels
Book the rooms you prefer, from a London apartment to a country house, and send us their names. Programme pages suggest where to stay, such as Bowness or Keswick on the Lake District tour.
- Entry tickets
Buy them directly from each site once your dates are fixed. Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, Blenheim Palace and the Tower of London all sell tickets online, while the Cotswolds villages are free to walk. Add your entry times to the booking notes.
- A guide, only if you want one
Your chauffeur drives, waits and shares tips on the road. For commentary at Stonehenge or a walking tour of Bath, ask for a licensed guide when you book; it is priced separately.
Meals stay your choice too, and your chauffeur plans every stop around the hotels and entry times you send.
Can the tour end at the airport or in another city?
Yes. A tour does not have to finish where it started. The road trip from London can end at Southampton for your ship, and the Cotswolds tour begins at Heathrow arrivals.
On the London programmes, add a one-way airport transfer for the morning you fly home. Your chauffeur plans the drop-off time around your flight, and your cases ride with you.
Want to start in London and finish somewhere else, such as Edinburgh or Manchester Airport? Tell us the start point, the end point and your dates. We plan the route as a one-way trip and quote the trip as one total for the car.
How is a private tour different from a package tour?
Most UK and England tours sold as packages bundle hotels, sightseeing and a seat on a shared vehicle, and every traveller follows one fixed timetable. Our programmes work the other way round: the Mercedes and the chauffeur belong to your party alone, and you decide the rest.
You choose where you sleep. Pick a London apartment, a family hotel or a country inn, and we set each morning’s pick-up from its door. On the Cotswolds tour, that can mean a village hotel you picked yourself rather than one booked for a crowd.
Nobody else sets the clock. There is no meeting point, no waiting for latecomers and no head count before the car leaves. Start later after a long flight, stay longer at a castle you love, or drop a stop that does not interest you.
The total covers your whole party. Adding a grandparent or a teenager does not add a ticket for the car, as long as everyone fits in the vehicle you choose.
Ready-made, yet still yours. Families often begin with the 5-day London programme, while couples sailing from Southampton pick our England road trip. Either way, the days are planned in advance and the pace on the day stays with you.
Questions about private UK tours
What is included in a private tour programme?
Every programme includes a Mercedes with a professional chauffeur for each day, fuel, parking and road charges, and free waiting at every stop. Tours that sleep outside London also include the chauffeur’s hotel. Your own hotels, meals and entry tickets are not included.
Are these group tours?
No. Every programme is private: the car and the chauffeur are only for you and your party. You choose the start time each morning, how long to stay at each stop, and where to have lunch.
Can I change a programme or build my own?
Yes. Small changes inside a day, such as skipping a stop, just need a word with your chauffeur. For other days, other places or a longer trip, send us your plan and we reply with one fixed price for the whole car.
Is the chauffeur also a tour guide?
No. Our chauffeurs are professional drivers who know the routes, car parks and viewpoints and share tips on the way, but do not guide inside the sights. A qualified guide can be added on any day for an extra charge.
Can I cancel a tour programme?
Yes. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup on the first day, with any card payment refunded in full. Inside 24 hours the fare is charged. You can also choose to pay your chauffeur in cash on the first day.
What is the best time of year for a private tour of the UK?
May to September gives the longest daylight, which matters most for Scotland, Wales and the Lake District. London and the Cotswolds work all year, and spring and autumn are quieter in the famous villages. In winter, shorter days suit city sightseeing and shorter drives.
Are private tours of England suitable for seniors?
Yes. Your chauffeur collects you from your hotel each morning and sets you down as close to each entrance as access allows. You set the pace and take breaks when you like, and the car waits at every stop. Tell us about any mobility needs when you book.
Can a tour programme start at the airport?
Yes. The five-day Cotswolds tour starts with meet and greet at Heathrow arrivals and drives you straight to the countryside. The London programmes start from your hotel, so add a separate airport transfer for the day you land.
How many days do you need to see England?
Five days covers London and two or three famous places nearby, such as Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath. Seven to ten days adds a region, such as the Cotswolds villages, Snowdonia or the Lake District. Scotland needs extra days of its own, because Edinburgh is a long drive north of London. For a weekend trip from London, the Snowdonia 2-day tour is ready to book from £1,840 per car.
Do I book my own hotels on a multi-day tour?
Yes. You book the hotels you prefer, so the room, the budget and any loyalty points stay your choice. Send us the hotel names when you book, and we plan every pick-up and drop-off around them. On tours that sleep outside London, the chauffeur stays nearby and that night is already part of the programme price. The Cotswolds programme page names the towns that work best for each night.
How much luggage fits in the car?
The E-Class takes two large suitcases plus hand luggage, which suits a couple. With more cases than that, choose the V-Class, which seats seven with their luggage. On days when you change hotels, your cases stay locked in the boot while you explore, so you never carry them between stops.
What if my flight is delayed on the first day?
Programmes that start at the airport, such as the five-day Cotswolds tour, use the flight number you give when booking. Your pick-up moves with a delayed flight, and the first 60 minutes after landing are free waiting. If you land much later than planned, your chauffeur reorders that first day with you so you still reach the places that matter most.
One car, one chauffeur and one price for every day of your trip.
Choose the programme that fits your days, and we plan every mile.
