What does a 3-day London itinerary look like?
Here is our 3 days in London itinerary, day by day, with a 09:00 start; pickup can be any time from 08:00 to noon. Every time below includes the drive before it. Your chauffeur sets you down close to each area, and you walk between sights a few minutes apart while the car waits nearby.
Plan days one and two for any day except Sunday, when the Abbey and St Paul’s close for sightseeing. A Friday-to-Sunday weekend works well, with Sunday for Bath or Kensington; on a Sunday Windsor Castle is open but St George’s Chapel is not. If day one is a Monday, day three falls on a Wednesday, when Windsor Castle is closed.
Day 1: Royal London and Westminster
- 09:00 Pickup at your hotel, then Westminster Bridge for Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
- 09:45 Westminster Abbey, about an hour inside.
- 11:00 Buckingham Palace and The Mall. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday the Changing of the Guard starts here at 11:00.
- 12:15 A walk through St James’s Park; your chauffeur meets you on the far side at Horse Guards.
- 13:00 Trafalgar Square and lunch, then the National Gallery or the shops and street performers of Covent Garden.
- 17:00 Drop-off at your hotel.
This is the route of our one-day private London tour by car, here as the first of three days.
Day 2: The City, the Tower and the South Bank
- 09:00 Pickup at your hotel.
- 09:30 The Tower of London, about 30 minutes from a central hotel. It opens at 9:00 Tuesday to Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday and Monday. See the Crown Jewels first, then the White Tower and the Yeoman Warders, about 2 hours 30 minutes.
- 12:15 Tower Bridge, with a photo stop on the south side of the river.
- 13:00 Lunch at Borough Market, beneath the arches by London Bridge.
- 14:30 St Paul’s Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge.
- 16:00 A stroll along the South Bank to the London Eye; the car collects you by the river.
- 17:00 Return to your hotel.
Day 3: Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath, or Kensington
- Windsor Leave at 09:00 and reach Windsor Castle at about 10:00, an hour’s drive. St George’s Chapel, lunch in Windsor or across the bridge in Eton, then Marlow on the Thames; back at your hotel by 17:00. The castle opens Thursday to Monday; St George’s Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays.
- Bath Leave at 09:00 for Stonehenge, about 2 hours west, then Bath at about 14:00, an hour on, for the Roman Baths, the Abbey and the Royal Crescent. Back at your hotel at about 19:00: a 10-hour day.
- London (Classic London) Kensington Palace and Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum or the British Museum, Harrods, then Notting Hill and Portobello Road; back by 17:00. Or swap the day for the Harry Potter Studio Tour, priced on request.
Each option has its own fixed price, chosen on the booking form. More detail: the Windsor Castle day trip and the Stonehenge and Bath day trip.

Only 2 days in London, or 4 or 5?
Two days: keep days one and two above and drop day three. Westminster, Buckingham Palace, the Tower and St Paul’s still fit; Windsor, Bath and the museums wait for another visit. Send us your two dates for one fixed price.
Four or five days: our 4-day London itinerary adds the Cotswolds, and the 5-day London itinerary by private car adds Stonehenge, Bath and Windsor, with London as your base every night.
To sleep outside London instead, we also run a multi-day England tour with a private driver.

How much does a 3-day London tour with a driver cost?
One fixed price for the whole car for all three days, not per person. The big figure is Classic London, with day three in Kensington; the lines below it price day three at Windsor or at Stonehenge and Bath.

How do you plan 3 days in London with kids, or in the rain?
- Child seats Seats for every age, from baby seats to boosters, fitted free on request. The V‑Class takes a pushchair beside the luggage and becomes a quiet place for a nap between sights.
- What children enjoy The Changing of the Guard and the pelicans of St James’s Park on day one; the ravens and Beefeaters at the Tower on day two; the dinosaurs of the Natural History Museum and the Diana Memorial Playground on a London day three.
- In the rain Longer in the Abbey and the National Gallery on day one; Tate Modern instead of the South Bank stroll on day two; Windsor’s State Apartments or the South Kensington museums on day three. The chauffeur drops you at each entrance.
- In winter From November to January it is dark by about 4pm, so keep the outdoor stops (Tower Bridge, the South Bank, Marlow) before 15:30 and the museums for later. The Tower closes on 24, 25 and 26 December and on 1 January.

Review published on Google MapsQuestions about 3 days in London with a private driver
Is 3 days in London enough?
For a first visit, yes: two days cover the headline sights by car, from Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace to the Tower of London and St Paul’s, and the third goes to Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath, or Kensington.
Is it the same chauffeur on all three days?
Yes, we keep one chauffeur for the whole programme wherever possible, so by day three they know your hotel entrance, your pace and your plans. The car class you booked stays the same on all three days.
Can we add extra hours for a show or a late dinner?
Yes. Add the hours on the booking form and their price is in the total you see before you pay. A later pickup also moves the day into the evening at no extra cost.
Do the three days have to be in a row?
Online, yes: three days in a row at one pickup time. For a gap between the days or different start times, send us your dates and we confirm the plan and price in writing.
Where should we stay for 3 days in London?
Stay central, so each morning starts close to the sights: Westminster, Mayfair, Covent Garden and Kensington all suit the itinerary. One hotel for all three nights is easiest, as the chauffeur collects you from the same door each morning. You book the hotel yourself.
Is the driver a tour guide?
No. Your chauffeur is a professional driver who knows London, its closures and the best photo stops, and points things out on the way, but does not give guided commentary inside the sights. A qualified guide can join any day at a separate price.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup, with any card payment refunded in full; inside 24 hours the fare is charged. If you chose to pay the chauffeur on day one, cancelling in time costs nothing.
Can we fit the Harry Potter Studio Tour into 3 days in London?
Yes, as day three in place of Windsor or Stonehenge and Bath. Studio tickets are timed and sold only in advance, so book your slot first, then ask us for a quote: the chauffeur plans the pickup around your slot and waits during the visit.
