London Helicopter Charter
One quote for the flight and the car.
Charter, sightseeing or Heathrow–Battersea flights, your chauffeur at both ends.
Price on request · written quote

A London helicopter charter through Tripyana Ltd covers three things. Book a private charter, a sightseeing flight over the Thames, or a Heathrow to Battersea transfer of 15 to 20 minutes in the air. Operators licensed by the CAA fly the aircraft. We arrange the booking and drive you to and from the departure site. Price on request.

What can you book on a London helicopter charter?
Three products, each arranged with a car at both ends. Every one is quoted for the whole aircraft, so nobody outside your party shares the cabin.
Private charter
A whole aircraft for your party, typically 3 to 6 seats. Use it for a city flight, a country-house visit or an event day. Your chauffeur delivers you to the departure aerodrome and collects you where you land. You choose the time; the operator confirms the slot.
Sightseeing flight
A 12 to 30-minute flight along the Thames corridor: Westminster, the London Eye, St Paul’s, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. Departures leave from Battersea or from aerodromes 45 to 75 minutes outside the centre.
Heathrow to Battersea transfer
Helicopters do not land at Heathrow’s passenger terminals. Your chauffeur meets you on arrival and drives you to the departure site nearby. The flight to the London Heliport at Battersea takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes. A second car covers the last 20 to 30 minutes to Mayfair or Knightsbridge.

How does the day work with a chauffeur?
You are driven, flown and driven again, with one contact for the whole chain.
A quote in writing
Tell us the date, the party size, approximate weights and the route. One written figure comes back for the flight and both car legs.
The weather call
The operator makes the go or no-go decision the evening before. If the flight is grounded, your chauffeur still drives the planned route at the car rate already agreed.
Hotel door to heliport
Your chauffeur collects you from the hotel and reaches the departure site 30 to 45 minutes before the slot. That leaves time for the weigh-in and the safety briefing; suitcases stay in the car.
Landing and onward
A car waits at the landing site and takes you to the hotel, the airport or the next meeting. Airport arrivals add an escort from the aircraft door to the car.
For a Heathrow arrival, the escort starts before the car. Our Heathrow VIP Meet & Greet with fast-track takes you from the gate through immigration to the chauffeur. Baggage that cannot fly goes by road and reaches the hotel within the hour.
The same cars serve the ground legs on every product. A Mercedes E-Class carries up to 3 passengers and a V-Class 7. An S-Class or Range Rover suits arrivals that matter.

What do helicopter operators require from passengers?
Weight, luggage, ID, age and weather rules are set by the operator, not by us. We confirm the exact figures in writing at quote. The list below shows the typical conditions across London operators.
- Weight: every passenger is weighed at check-in. Smaller aircraft cap each seat at roughly 95 to 115 kg and set a combined limit for the cabin.
- Luggage: one soft, lap-sized bag per passenger on sightseeing flights; charter aircraft take small soft bags only. Suitcases travel by road with your chauffeur.
- Photo ID: a passport or driving licence for every passenger, children included.
- Minimum age: 2 to 6 years depending on the operator; under-16s fly with an adult.
- Weather: the pilot decides, usually the evening before. A grounded flight is rebooked or refunded under the operator’s terms.
- Lead time: about two weeks for weekends; some weekday slots open at 24 to 48 hours’ notice.

Because the weigh-in is final, we collect approximate weights and passport names when you enquire. That way the operator confirms the seat plan before you pay, and nobody is turned away at the pad.
Who books a helicopter in London?
Three groups, for three different reasons. In each case the car is what turns a 20-minute flight into a plan that works door to door.
Business travellers
A Heathrow landing at 08:00 and a meeting in the City at 09:30. The transfer removes the M4 and the A4 from the morning, and the chauffeur is already waiting at Battersea.
Families
A private cabin over the Thames for parents and two or three children. The pushchair rides in the boot, and the same driver waits at both ends.
Proposals and anniversaries
A late-afternoon flight, then dinner by car in Mayfair. We fix the timing with the operator; any champagne option is theirs to offer, not ours to promise.

Can you fly by helicopter from London to Manchester or Scotland?
Yes, by charter, and most guests combine the flight with our car at the far end. A twin-engine charter from Battersea to Manchester typically takes about 1 hour 20 minutes. By road on the M1 and M6 the same journey takes roughly 4 hours.
Scotland needs a fuel stop and a full-day aircraft. The quote depends on the airframe and on whether it returns the same day. In both cases a chauffeur meets the aircraft and runs the rest of the day. That means Old Trafford and the Trafford Centre, or Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. If the budget says road, our London to Manchester guide and chauffeur-driven car hire cover the same journeys.

How do I get a helicopter charter quote?
Send the brief
Date, route, number of passengers and approximate weights, through the contact form, with the flight number if Heathrow is involved.
Receive one figure
The flight, the landing fees and both chauffeur legs on one written quote. The operator’s weight, luggage and weather terms are attached. Nothing is charged before you approve it.
Confirm the slot
We hold the slot with the operator and assign the chauffeur. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup applies to the car legs; the flight follows the operator’s own terms.
Frequently asked questions about helicopter charter in London
How much does a helicopter charter in London cost?
It depends on the aircraft, the flight minutes, the landing fees at each site and the day of the week. A short sightseeing flight in a small single-engine aircraft costs a fraction of a twin-engine airport transfer. We quote the full figure in writing, including both chauffeur legs, before you pay anything.
Where do London helicopter flights depart from?
Central departures use the London Heliport at Battersea, on the south bank of the Thames. Other flights leave from aerodromes 45 to 75 minutes outside the centre in Surrey, Hertfordshire and Kent. Your chauffeur handles that distance, so the departure site does not change your morning.
Can a helicopter land at Heathrow Airport?
Not at the passenger terminals. Heathrow helicopter transfers work through the airport’s private-aviation handling or a departure site a few minutes away by car. From there the flight to Battersea takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes. A second car completes the journey to your hotel.
How many passengers fit in a charter helicopter?
Typically 3 in a small single-engine aircraft and 4 to 6 in a twin-engine type. The largest helicopters used around London seat up to 7. Combined passenger weight limits the seat count as much as the seats do. That is why we collect approximate weights before quoting.
What happens if the weather cancels the flight?
The operator’s pilot makes the decision, usually the evening before. The flight is then rebooked or refunded under the operator’s terms. Your chauffeur booking stays live. The car drives the planned route instead, at the rate already agreed, so the day still happens.
Is Tripyana the helicopter operator?
No. Flights are operated by helicopter companies holding a CAA air operator certificate. We arrange the booking, the chauffeur legs and the airport escort. Tripyana Ltd is a UK-licensed company — private hire operator licence PHOP950 · Company No. 16308293.
