The route

What you see on a London helicopter tour

You lift off at Battersea and head east along the Thames. Battersea Power Station, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye come first, then the South Bank, St Paul’s Cathedral and the City.

The Shard and Tower Bridge mark the turn. The helicopter then swings back west for a return pass, so you see the skyline from the other side of the river. Air traffic control and the weather can adjust the exact line.

This helicopter experience leaves from inside London, at London Heliport in Battersea, SW11 3BE. It is about 25 minutes by car from Mayfair, so your day goes on the flight and not on the road.

Before you fly

What the operator asks of every passenger

  • Photo ID : Bring a valid passport or driving licence for each passenger.
  • Your weight : Give each passenger’s weight when you book. It may be checked before boarding, and a large difference can mean a later flight or refused travel.
  • Small bags only : Larger luggage stays on the ground, so leave it at your hotel.
  • Children : Passengers under 16 must fly with an adult. Tell us about infants before you confirm.
  • A shared cabin : The helicopter carries up to five passengers, and the operator arranges the seating at check-in.

Changes

What happens if the weather changes your flight

The operator makes the weather call on safety grounds. If your flight cannot go, you choose a new date or a credit valid for 12 months.

A seat cannot be refunded once it is confirmed, and a flight shortened or rerouted for safety is not refunded automatically. So check your dates before you confirm the seat.

For the car: Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.

Questions

Helicopter ride London: frequently asked questions

How much is a helicopter ride over London?

A couple pays £640 for two seats on this 20-minute shared flight from Battersea, and a party of four pays £1,280. That covers the flight, check-in and the safety briefing. A private car from your hotel is optional and priced each way.

How long is the flight, and how early do I arrive?

You spend 20 minutes in the air. You check in 45 minutes before take-off for ID, weights and the safety briefing, so plan on a little over an hour at the heliport.

Where does the helicopter leave from?

It leaves from London Heliport at Battersea, on the south bank of the Thames. You land back at the same place, so if you book the car your driver collects you where you started.

Which days does it fly?

The operator publishes no fixed schedule, so we do not print set days here. Send your preferred date and we confirm the nearest available flight in writing before you commit.

Is the flight private?

No. Seats are sold one by one, so other passengers may share the cabin with you unless your party fills every seat. A couple simply books two seats, and a family books the number it needs.

Can I choose a window seat?

We cannot promise a particular seat. The operator decides the seating at check-in, because the balance of the aircraft comes first, so your place depends on who else is flying that day.

Can children fly?

Yes, children can fly, and anyone under 16 must travel with an adult. Age limits can apply on some flights and infants need arranging ahead, so tell us each child’s age when you request your seats.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The operator offers you another date or a credit valid for 12 months. The seat itself is not refunded once confirmed, so pick a date that leaves some room in your trip.
