What does a London to Paris chauffeur journey include?
The car collects you at your London door and stops at your Paris door, with nothing to carry in between. The route runs down the M20 to the Folkestone terminal and through the tunnel on the vehicle shuttle. From Calais it follows the A16 and A1 into Paris: 284 miles in all.

How does booking a London to Paris chauffeur work?

Confirm and send passport details
Pay online and the confirmation arrives at once. The shuttle operator needs each passenger’s passport details 24 hours before travel. We ask for them the day before at the latest.

The chauffeur is at your door at the agreed time. He checks the car in at Folkestone, waits with you through passport control and drives you into Paris. His name and the car details reach you the evening before.
When should we leave London for Paris?
Leave before 08:00. That clears the M25 and the M20 ahead of the morning peak and reaches Paris before its evening one. The operator asks cars to arrive at Folkestone 1 to 2 hours before the booked crossing. A Standard ticket also lets the car board a later shuttle, up to an hour after the booked time. Paris clocks run one hour ahead of London.

The drive times behind the table are Google’s. Mayfair to Folkestone is about 1 hour 45 minutes; Calais to the Louvre about 3 hours. Friday afternoons, half-term weekends and the days around Christmas add time on both sides. On those dates we suggest an earlier start in the quote.
Can we book the return from Paris to London as well?
Yes, and it costs the same as the outward leg. The chauffeur collects you at your Paris hotel on the day you choose. UK passport control sits at the Coquelles terminal, so you arrive at Folkestone with nothing more to show. Book both legs in one quote and the same chauffeur takes both where the rota allows.
Between the two legs the car returns to London; it does not wait in Paris. A private driver for your days in Paris can be arranged on request and is quoted separately.
Guests who fly home from Paris are dropped at Charles de Gaulle or Orly instead of the hotel. Guests who fly home from London add a Heathrow transfer to the return day.
What should we know before booking the Paris journey?
- Passports.France follows Schengen rules. The passport must be issued less than 10 years before arrival and stay valid for 3 months after you leave. If your nationality needs a Schengen visa, hold it before the travel day.
- The EU Entry/Exit System.Non-EU passengers register fingerprints and a photo at the Folkestone terminal after check-in, free of charge. It replaces the passport stamp and adds a few minutes on a first visit.
- Cases and seats.Count the cases before choosing the car. Child seats are provided when requested at booking. The V-Class stands over 1.85 m, so we book it onto the shuttle’s single-deck carriages.
- Peak dates.School holidays and bank-holiday weekends carry a peak-day charge on the shuttle. Your quote already contains it, and the total in your confirmation does not change afterwards.
- Book early.Cars are allocated in order of booking, and the shuttle crossing is reserved as soon as you confirm.

How long does the drive from London to Paris take with a chauffeur?
Allow about 7 hours from hotel door to hotel door. Roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to Folkestone, then an hour at the terminal for check-in and passports. Then 35 minutes on the shuttle and about 3 hours from Calais to central Paris with one stop. Paris clocks are one hour ahead, so a 07:30 departure reaches the hotel around 15:30 local time.
Where are passports checked on the way to Paris?
At the Folkestone terminal, before the car boards the shuttle. UK and French officers sit side by side there. On arrival in Calais the car drives straight onto the motorway with no second check. On the return leg the same happens at the Coquelles terminal near Calais, and nothing is checked at Folkestone.
Can we stop on the way, for lunch or to see Canterbury?
Yes. One stop of about 20 minutes is inside the price. A longer lunch stop in Canterbury before the tunnel, or in Arras or Chantilly after it, is agreed at booking. It is priced as waiting time in the quote, so the total is still written before you travel. Tell us the wish when you ask for the quote.
Does the chauffeur stay with us in Paris?
No. The chauffeur returns to London after the drop, and that return is already inside the price. A private driver for your days in Paris can be arranged on request and is quoted separately. For the journey back, the Paris to London leg costs the same figure; add it to the same quote.
