What is included

What does a Heathrow to Brighton transfer include?

This is the long airport run to the coast: about 64 miles from your Heathrow terminal to a Brighton door. One car and one chauffeur cover it, with no change of vehicle. Fuel, the motorway miles and the Heathrow parking sit inside the fare. Each booking carries four things:

Met inside your terminal

Your chauffeur stands in arrivals at Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5 once you clear customs, name board raised. Cases roll from the belt to the boot.

Flight tracked, waiting included

Long-haul arrivals drift early or late, so we watch the flight and set the pickup by the actual touchdown. Your first 60 minutes of waiting cost nothing.

Any Brighton address

A seafront hotel, a Hove flat, a University of Sussex residence at Falmer, or the hospital in Kemp Town. You name the door; the car ends there.

One fare for the whole car

You pay for the vehicle, not for each traveler. An E-Class takes 3 people and 2 large cases; a V-Class takes 7 people and 7 cases. Child seats cost nothing extra.

Meeting point

Where does the chauffeur meet me at Heathrow?

Tripyana chauffeur greeting a guest with a name board in the Heathrow arrivals hall

Heathrow runs four terminals: 2, 3, 4 and 5. The chauffeur meets you in the public arrivals hall of yours, right past the customs exit. Your flight number tells us which terminal it is, so you never need to check.

Every terminal is a few minutes from the M25, which swings round to the M23 for Brighton. That is why the fare barely moves between terminals. After an overnight long-haul flight, you can rest for most of the run to the South Downs.

No board in sight as you come through? Stay inside the hall and ring the number on your confirmation. Heathrow arrivals halls are large, but your chauffeur is already there and finds you quickly.

The journey

How long is the drive to Brighton from Heathrow?

Allow 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes for about 64 miles. The chauffeur takes the M25 south-east from the airport, joins the M23 past Gatwick and follows the A23 over the South Downs into Brighton. In free-flowing traffic the run sits at the short end of that window.

Where the M23 ends, the last stretch is the A23 from the north. Preston Park comes first, a few minutes short of the sea. Hove addresses sit west of the centre; Kemp Town lies east.

We drive day and night, and the fare stays the same at any hour. Late arrivals move fastest, because the M25 and M23 empty after 22:00 and Brighton streets are clear.

Who travels this way

Who books a one-way car into Brighton on arrival day?

  • Visitors starting a south-coast holiday: land from a long-haul flight, head past London straight to the sea, and save the capital for the end. The onward leg can go in the same booking form.
  • Families with a week of luggage: a night flight from far away, then up to 1 hour 45 minutes on the road. The seven-seat V-Class fits four suitcases and a pushchair, with space for children to rest.
  • Students and parents for the start of term: a student flying in from overseas brings a year of luggage. The car runs on to Falmer and stops at the residence or reception you name.
  • Patients and visitors for the Royal Sussex County Hospital: the hospital is on Eastern Road in Kemp Town, east of the centre. Tell us the entrance in the notes and the car stops there.
Return and day trips

Can I book Brighton to Heathrow, or turn the run into a coast day?

Entrance to Brighton Palace Pier and the seafront boardwalk

Yes. Enter your Brighton address as the pickup and your terminal as the drop, or open the Brighton to Heathrow booking form, which already has Brighton filled in. Fares sit in the table above, and the car stops at the departures entrance of your terminal.

For a flight out, we take the check-in window your airline sets. Then we add up to two hours for the M23 and M25. Send the flight number, and we confirm the pickup time with you in writing.

Arriving today and flying home from Heathrow next week? Select Return (new ride) in the form. Both legs are then confirmed together under one booking reference.

Want the seafront and the Seven Sisters cliffs with a driver who waits and brings you back to London the same evening? That is a different product, the Brighton and Seven Sisters day trip from London. Need a second stop on the way? Send the request through our contact page and we confirm the price in writing first.

Leaving for a flight

When should I leave Brighton for a Heathrow flight?

Work back from the time your airline closes bag drop for your flight, then add the road. The run to Heathrow takes 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes in normal traffic, and we allow two hours when the M23 and the M25 are at their busiest.

The slow windows are weekday mornings from about 06:30 and late afternoons from about 16:00 on the M25 around the airport, plus Friday and Sunday evenings in summer on the M23. A pickup before 06:00 or after 20:00 usually runs at the short end.

An example: if your airline asks you to be at the terminal three hours before a 10:00 long-haul departure, the car collects you in Brighton or Hove at about 05:00. Send your flight details when you book; we propose a pickup hour and confirm it with you in writing. The fare is the same at any hour.

Before you book

What should I know before booking this transfer?

  • The flight number: add it to the notes. From it we know which of the four terminals you use and when a long-haul arrival really lands.
  • Luggage: count the cases before you choose a car. A golf bag or a pushchair counts as one large item.
  • Waiting beyond the free hour: if a delayed bag keeps you longer, we agree the extra wait with you first. It is charged by the started hour, never in half hours.
  • Streets closed to cars: cars cannot enter The Lanes or some seafront walks. Name your hotel and we stop at the closest door a car can reach.
  • A comfort stop: the drive is under two hours, but a short stop at the services on the way is fine. Ask the chauffeur at any time.
  • Payment and receipt: card payment online, with the confirmation and receipt in your inbox within minutes.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about Heathrow to Brighton and Brighton to Heathrow transfers

What is the fare from Heathrow to Brighton by private car?

From £270 in a Mercedes E-Class and from £320 in the seven-seat V-Class, Terminal 5 to the seafront. The 64-mile run is priced per car by distance. Terminals 2, 3 or 4, or another Brighton address, shift it by a few pounds. The form shows your exact figure before payment.

How long does the Heathrow to Brighton drive take?

Between 1 hour 15 minutes and an hour and 45 minutes for about 64 miles. The route runs round the M25, south on the M23 past Gatwick and down the A23 into Brighton. Free-flowing traffic sits at the short end; weekday peaks on the M25 add up to half an hour.

Where will the chauffeur wait at Heathrow, and what if I land late?

Past customs, in the public arrivals hall of Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5, with your name on a board. Delays on a long-haul flight are tracked, and the pickup moves to the real landing at no cost. Waiting is free for the first 60 minutes after touchdown.

Can you drop me at a seafront hotel or at the university?

Yes. Enter the hotel, the University of Sussex campus at Falmer or any other Brighton or Hove address as the drop-off. The Lanes and parts of the seafront are closed to cars, so the chauffeur stops at the nearest point and helps with the bags to the door.

Is the price per person or per car?

Per car. One fare covers the vehicle one way, so a party of four in the V-Class pays what two would. Only the car, your Heathrow terminal and the Brighton address change the price.

How much does the Brighton to Heathrow private car cost?

Brighton seafront to Terminal 5 costs about the same as the run in. The table above lists each car. The form prices your exact address. Pickup is set from your flight: the check-in window, plus up to two hours on the M23 and M25. Return (new ride) books both legs at once.

How much luggage fits, and which car suits a family?

The E-Class and S-Class carry 2 large cases, the Range Rover 4 and the V-Class 7. The V-Class also seats up to 7, so a family with a week of luggage usually fits in one car. Book by the number of bags, not only by seats.

Are child seats included, and can I cancel?

Yes, child seats are free; give each age at the extras step. You can cancel at no cost up to 24 hours before pickup. Payment is by card online, and the receipt comes by email. Tripyana Ltd is a UK-licensed company — private hire operator licence PHOP950 · Company No. 16308293.

Can you collect me in Hove, Lewes or on the Sussex campus for Heathrow?

Yes. Enter a street address in Hove, a residence on the Sussex campus at Falmer, or a house in Lewes as the pickup, and your terminal as the drop. The fare follows the distance, so the form shows the exact figure for that address at once. The chauffeur waits at your door at the hour we set together.
