What does the Heathrow to Southampton via Stonehenge transfer include?
One car, one chauffeur and one figure for the cruise day, with fuel, parking and waiting inside it. Four things come with every booking:
Arrivals-hall pickup, flight tracked
The chauffeur watches your flight number and waits inside the terminal with a name board. 60 minutes of waiting after landing are free.
Two hours at Stonehenge
The car parks at the visitor centre and stays there. You walk to the stones at your own pace.
Luggage stays in the car
Cruise cases never leave the locked boot between the arrivals hall and the terminal drop-off.
Drop at your ship’s terminal
Any of the five Southampton cruise terminals, at the door where the porters take your bags.
Does a Stonehenge stop fit between a morning landing and an afternoon sailing?
Yes, when the flight lands before about 10:00 and the ship sails at 16:30 or later. Heathrow to Stonehenge is about 75 miles on the M3 and A303, around an hour and a quarter. Stonehenge to the docks is another 30 miles, under an hour on the A36 and M27.
We plan the day backwards from your ship’s all-aboard time, not from the sailing time on the ticket. Cruise lines close boarding 60 to 90 minutes before departure. The cards below compare two landing times against a 16:00 sailing.

Our verdict
09:00 landing: On the line. We shorten the stop to 90 minutes, so the car arrives by 14:00. The full two hours fit any sailing from 16:30.
12:00 landing: Does not fit. A direct run reaches the port about 15:15, which needs a 17:00 sailing or later. Ask us before you book.
The 75 minutes from touchdown to the car is an estimate for eGate passengers. A long baggage wait can add 30 minutes, so we confirm the stop length on the day.
Can we go from a London hotel to Southampton via Stonehenge?
Yes. If you spend a night in London before the cruise, the chauffeur collects you at your hotel instead of the airport. Central London to Stonehenge is about 90 miles, around two hours on the M3 and A303, and the docks are under an hour beyond the stones.
- 08:00hotel pickup; the cases go straight into the boot.
- 10:00Stonehenge visitor centre, half an hour after it opens.
- 12:00back in the car after the two-hour visit.
- 13:00at your ship’s terminal, comfortably before all-aboard for a 16:00 sailing.
Same price as the Heathrow pickup: the fixed cruise fare from central London is identical, and the detour plus the stop take the same three touring hours. Hotels outside central London are quoted on the same basis.
How much is the London to Southampton transfer via Stonehenge?
The figure depends only on the car, never on the headcount or the traffic. It is the fixed Southampton cruise fare, the same from central London or Heathrow, plus three touring hours for the detour and the stop.

Stonehenge admission is bought separately on the English Heritage site. Prefer to go straight to the ship? The direct transfer to the Southampton cruise port is the plain fare without touring hours.

Can we stop at Windsor Castle instead of Stonehenge?
Yes, and Windsor is the safer choice for a later landing. The castle is about 8 miles from Heathrow, a 20-minute drive. Windsor to the docks is around 65 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes on the M3 and M27. The detour adds two touring hours instead of three, so the fare is lower.
A 10:00 landing gives a two-hour castle visit with the car at the terminal around 14:30. Opening days vary by season; check the Royal Collection Trust calendar first.

Where does the chauffeur meet us at Heathrow?
Inside the arrivals hall of your terminal, at the airport’s own meeting point, holding a board with your name. US, Canadian and Australian passport holders aged 10 and over use the eGates, usually the quickest route.
- Terminal 2meeting point opposite the international arrivals exit.
- Terminal 3the seating area on the ground floor of Arrivals.
- Terminal 4next to WHSmith on the ground floor of Arrivals.
- Terminal 5the north point opposite Travelex or the south point near Costa Coffee.

Which Southampton cruise terminal will we be dropped at?

The one your ship is berthed at on the day. We check the port schedule and confirm it the evening before. The port operator runs five terminals across two dock areas:
- QEII and OceanEastern Docks, Dock Gate 4.
- City and HorizonWestern Docks, Dock Gate 10.
- MayflowerWestern Docks, Dock Gate 20.
Porters take the cases at the drop-off lane. Layouts, parking and embarkation timing are in our Southampton cruise terminal guide.
Can we visit Stonehenge on the way back to Heathrow after the cruise?
Yes, and it suits an evening flight. The chauffeur waits at the terminal exit on disembarkation morning, and the day runs the other way round:
- 08:30walk off the ship; the car is outside with your name on a board.
- 09:30Stonehenge opens; two hours at the stones while the cases stay in the car.
- 11:30leave for Heathrow, about 75 minutes on the A303 and M3.
- 12:50at your departure terminal, in time for transatlantic flights from about 16:00.
The fare is the same in this direction. For a morning flight, book the plain Southampton cruise terminal to Heathrow transfer instead. If your ship only calls at Southampton for the day, our Southampton shore excursions return you to the gangway.

Questions cruise passengers ask about the Stonehenge stop
How much is the transfer via Stonehenge per car?
From £390 per car in a Mercedes E-Class; the V-Class, S-Class and Range Rover are priced on the cards above. The figure is per car, not per person, and covers fuel, parking and the two-hour wait. Via Windsor Castle it starts at £335. The price shows in the booking form before you pay.
Is the Stonehenge ticket included in the price?
No. Entry is by timed ticket sold by English Heritage, and you book the slot that matches your landing time. Booking online by midnight the day before is cheaper than paying on the day. English Heritage sells its last ticket at 14:30 (16:30 in June to August), so the stop only works with a morning landing.
What happens to our luggage while we visit Stonehenge?
It stays locked in the boot, and the chauffeur stays with the car in the visitor centre car park. You take only what you want to carry to the stones. At the cruise terminal the porters collect the cases at the drop-off lane.
What if our flight lands late?
The chauffeur tracks the flight, and the first 60 minutes of waiting after landing are free. If the new landing time leaves no room for the stop, we shorten it or drive straight to the port. You are told before the car leaves the airport. The ship always comes first.
Can we do the Stonehenge stop after the cruise on the way to Heathrow?
Yes. Walk off the ship around 08:30 and reach Stonehenge for its 09:30 opening. Two hours there puts you at Heathrow about 12:50, in time for transatlantic departures from about 16:00. The fare is the same in this direction.
How far ahead should we book, and can we cancel?
Book as soon as your flight and cruise are confirmed; the price is held from the moment you pay. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. Tripyana Ltd is a UK-licensed company — private hire operator licence PHOP950 · Company No. 16308293.
Is there enough time to see Stonehenge before a Southampton cruise?
Usually yes, if your flight lands before about 10:00 and the ship sails at 16:30 or later. Cruise lines close boarding 60 to 90 minutes before sailing, and the drive is about 75 minutes to the stones plus under an hour to the docks. We plan backwards from your all-aboard time and shorten the stop when needed.
Can we leave suitcases at the Stonehenge visitor centre?
No. English Heritage has no cloakroom or left-luggage facility at Stonehenge and asks visitors to bring only essential items. Your cruise cases therefore stay in the car with the chauffeur, and you take the visitor bus, a ride of about 10 minutes, from the visitor centre to the stones with just a small bag.
How long does the whole journey from Heathrow to the ship take?
Plan on about five and a half hours from touchdown to the cruise terminal: around 75 minutes to clear the airport and meet the chauffeur, an hour and a quarter of driving to Stonehenge, the two-hour stop, then about 55 minutes to the docks. Going straight to the port without the stop saves roughly three hours.
Can the chauffeur collect us from a London hotel instead of Heathrow?
Yes. The chauffeur collects you from your central London hotel, usually at 08:00, and drives about two hours to Stonehenge. After the two-hour visit the docks are under an hour away, so the car reaches the terminal around 13:00. It costs exactly what the Heathrow pickup costs.
