Where Does My Chauffeur Meet Me at Heathrow? T2 to T5 Guide

At every Heathrow terminal, your chauffeur waits inside the public arrivals hall with a board showing your booking name. You reach the hall after passport control, baggage reclaim and customs. Heathrow bans pick-ups on terminal roads, so the car waits in the terminal car park, two minutes’ walk away.

This guide covers Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 one by one. It explains each step from landing to the car door and how the free waiting works. It also says what to do if you cannot see your name.

Where exactly does a chauffeur wait at Heathrow?

The chauffeur stands at the point where you walk out of customs into the public hall. That is the first place every arriving passenger passes, so you cannot miss each other. Look along the barrier for a board with your name.

Heathrow also marks an official meeting point inside each arrivals hall. It is the fallback spot if the hall is crowded or your phone is flat. The sections below give each terminal’s meeting point as Heathrow describes it.

The car itself is not at the door. Heathrow’s passenger pick-up page says it is prohibited to pick up passengers from the terminal forecourts. Drivers use the Terminal Parking car parks instead, which Heathrow puts about two minutes’ walk from the terminal doors.

What happens between landing and meeting your chauffeur?

Every international arrival at Heathrow follows the same order. The steps are the same at all four terminals:

  • Leave the aircraft. Follow the Arrivals signs towards passport control.
  • Passport control. Use the eGates if your passport allows it, or the staffed desks.
  • Baggage reclaim. The screens show your flight number and belt.
  • Customs. Choose the channel that fits what you carry.
  • The public arrivals hall. Your chauffeur is waiting here, holding your name.

You do not need to message anyone while you queue. The chauffeur follows your flight and is already in the hall when you come through.

Where does my driver meet me at Heathrow Terminal 2?

At Terminal 2, the chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall as you come through the exit from customs. Terminal 2, which Heathrow calls the Queen’s Terminal, handles most Star Alliance airlines. Lufthansa and United are two examples.

Heathrow lists the Terminal 2 meeting point as opposite the international arrivals exit. So if you miss the board at the barrier, the meeting point is straight ahead of you.

Terminal 2 sits in the central area next to Terminal 3. Its car park is a short walk from the hall, so the walk to the car is brief.

Where does my driver meet me at Heathrow Terminal 3?

At Terminal 3, the chauffeur waits at the exit into the arrivals hall, holding your name. Heathrow describes Terminal 3 as the Virgin Atlantic hub with over 20 other airlines. Emirates, American and Delta also use it, and some British Airways flights land here too.

Heathrow puts the Terminal 3 meeting point in the seating area on the ground floor of Arrivals. Wait there if the barrier is busy when several wide-body flights land together.

Terminal 3 is also in the central area. Many long-haul flights reach it in the early morning, so the hall can be full at dawn. A name board at eye level makes the search quick.

Where does my driver meet me at Heathrow Terminal 4?

At Terminal 4, the chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall as you leave customs, as at the other terminals. Terminal 4 handles many Gulf and Asian airlines. Qatar Airways, Etihad and Saudia all fly here.

Heathrow lists the Terminal 4 meeting point as next to WHSmith on the ground floor of Arrivals. Shops can change, so treat the meeting point signs as the reference.

Terminal 4 sits on the south side of the airport, apart from the other three. Heathrow closed its Terminal 4 multi-storey car park from 23 June 2026. The walk to the car may differ from older guides, and your chauffeur leads the way.

Where does my driver meet me at Heathrow Terminal 5?

At Terminal 5, the chauffeur waits where passengers come out of customs into the arrivals hall. Heathrow calls Terminal 5 British Airways’ main Heathrow hub.

Terminal 5 is large, so Heathrow marks two meeting points in its arrivals hall. The north point is opposite Travelex, and the south point is near Costa Coffee. If you agree a fallback with your chauffeur, name one of the two.

Some Terminal 5 gates are in the satellite buildings, 5B and 5C. Passengers from those gates take an automatic shuttle to the main building before passport control. Allow a few extra minutes; the chauffeur already counts that time.

How do I know which terminal I land at?

Your airline decides the terminal, and it is printed on your booking confirmation or boarding pass. Heathrow’s website also has a terminal finder that works by airline.

Give us your flight number when you book, not only the terminal. If an airline moves your flight to another terminal, the chauffeur sees the change and goes there. Heathrow occasionally reassigns flights, especially during disruption.

How long will my chauffeur wait at Heathrow?

The first 60 minutes after your actual landing time are free. The chauffeur tracks the flight, so the clock follows the real landing, not the time printed on your ticket.

When you book, the form sets the pickup about 45 minutes after landing. That gap covers the walk from the aircraft, passport control and most baggage reclaim waits.

An early landing does not cost you time either. If your flight lands 30 minutes early, the chauffeur is there for it. Our study of how often Heathrow arrivals land late or early shows why live tracking matters more than the timetable.

If something will keep you longer, such as a lost bag report, call us from the hall. We tell the chauffeur straight away.

What should I do if I cannot find my chauffeur?

Stay inside the arrivals hall and call us. Do not walk out to the forecourt, because the chauffeur will not be there. Follow these steps in order:

  • Look along the barrier again. Boards are held at chest height, and a crowd can hide one for a moment.
  • Go to the official meeting point. Use the spot listed above for your terminal and wait there.
  • Call our 24-hour line. Ring +44 7747 720000, give your booking name and terminal, and stay where you are.
  • Use the free Wi-Fi. Heathrow offers free Wi-Fi, so you can reach us without roaming if your mobile has no signal.

We then reach the chauffeur and guide you to each other. Most missed meetings come from a passenger leaving the hall early, so staying put is the fastest fix. If you prefer to write, our contact page reaches the same team.

What does the name board show?

The board shows the lead passenger’s name exactly as entered on the booking. If you book for a guest, enter the guest’s name rather than your own.

Check the spelling before you pay. A board that matches the passport name is the quickest one to spot after a long flight.

If several people in your group book separately, each booking has its own board. A single booking with one car keeps a family or team together at the barrier.

Can my chauffeur meet me at the aircraft door instead?

Yes, but that is a separate service. A standard chauffeur pickup meets you in the public hall, because drivers cannot enter the secure area. To be met at the gate, book our Heathrow VIP meet and greet with Fast Track.

With that service, a greeter walks you through passport control and baggage reclaim. They then hand you to the chauffeur in the hall. It suits families with young children, older travellers and anyone with a tight connection to a meeting.

How do I book a Heathrow pickup with a chauffeur?

Booking takes a few minutes, and the fare is fixed before you pay. You need three details: the flight number, the landing date and the address you are going to.

Enter them on the online booking form and pick the car that fits your group and bags. Add child ages or other requests in the notes. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.

Frequently asked questions about meeting your chauffeur at Heathrow

Where will my chauffeur meet me at Heathrow?

Inside the public arrivals hall of your terminal, just after you leave customs. The chauffeur holds a board with the name on your booking. Drivers cannot wait on the terminal forecourt, because Heathrow prohibits pick-ups there. The car waits in the terminal car park, a short walk away, and the chauffeur helps with your bags.

Does my chauffeur wait if my flight is delayed?

Yes. The chauffeur tracks your flight and moves the pickup to match the real landing time. The first 60 minutes after you land are free. A long passport queue or a slow baggage belt is already covered. Call us if a lost bag report will take you beyond that.

What if I land at a different Heathrow terminal than planned?

Give us your flight number at booking, and the chauffeur follows the flight rather than a fixed terminal. If the airline moves the flight, the chauffeur goes to the new terminal. If you only learn of a change after landing, call our 24-hour line from the arrivals hall.

Can I meet my chauffeur outside the terminal to save time?

No. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts, so a car cannot stop at the door for you. Walking out to look for the car usually makes the meeting slower. Stay in the arrivals hall, find your name board, and the chauffeur walks you to the car park.

What should I do if my phone has no signal at Heathrow?

Connect to Heathrow’s free Wi-Fi, which needs no roaming. Then call or message us through our website. If you cannot get online at all, go to your terminal’s official meeting point and wait there. Tell us that is where you are as soon as you can get online.

Is the meeting point the same for every Heathrow terminal?

The method is the same at Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5: the chauffeur waits where you leave customs. Each terminal’s hall has its own layout and its own signed meeting point. Terminal 5 has two, a north point and a south point, because its arrivals hall is so large.
